The Never-Ending Journey…

Man! I can’t believe we are on our last week of posting. Time flies so quickly. Just because it is over definitely doesn’t mean I will lose my commitment to the habits that I have began since the beginning of the diet. I have learned so many positive lifestyle changes from this diet.

I think the best change has been my heightened awareness. The simplest things like turning all the lights off, doing less laundry, no bottled water and eating organic more often. Not only have I made these positive changes in my life, but it has been a wonderful experience being able to share it with everybody following this blog as well as everybody that has been around me in that I have been able to sway to be more aware.

Our future truly is in jeopardy if we don’t take care of the world that we live in today. It is easy and simple to take on some challenges. The energy diet has also affected my real diet in that I am eating as what I like to call a situation-dependent vegetarian/vegan. I definitely have not completely eliminated meat just yet, but I have eaten the rest all out of my freezer, and none has entered my home since, which is also a positive bonus for the environment. I know I will continue many of the habits I have started through the exposure to this opportunity to blog about it. I definitely won’t be drinking any bottled water! Ha!

In about two weeks’ time, I’ll be going home to Calgary. I’m going to really try to help change the way things work at my house, maybe start composting. I will also be going back to where I drive my car most. I’m going to try to take transit this summer in Calgary more, and carpool!

All of these differences have really made me more aware of what I can do to make a difference. The slightest things make a big change, as well as celebrating the things that we go about doing every day that we maybe forget about while being overly preoccupied about buying organic, going green and the consumer side of things. There is so much you do every day that is worth embracing, like breathing, eating, living, walking. All those kinds of awesome simple things we forget about. Those raw aspects of our lives are key to reducing our consumption and effect on the environment around us.

Lastly, thank you for following our unique journeys. Thank you to the mentors that helped provide tips and answers to many of our questions. And a huge thank you to Christina for publishing our posts, keeping us updated and editing the posts. You are truly wonderful! Hopefully we’ve been able to provide some insight into changing your daily habits wherever you live.
